Biography

I currently teach at Winton Woods Middle School, a diverse public school in the suburbs of Cincinnati, OH. I have taught in the Winton Woods City Schools for most of my career. I also teach summer school in the Forest Hills School District.  I am also currently the Coordinator for Gifted and Talented in the District.

The simple answer to what I love about teaching is the kids. I love helping the kids reach higher than they thought they could. It’s great to see the joy on the kids’ faces when they achieve success.

Lead2Feed gives my students an opportunity to be leaders in a real world, authentic situation. It allows them to be held accountable. Using the issue of hunger for the challenge, put a real face on the issue. If the kids are successful with the project more kids will be fed. The challenge makes it real.

The skills and knowledge the kids gain during the Lead2Feed lessons does not end with the challenge. The kids take the leadership skills with them for the next year and for life. The students who have successfully embraced the lessons gain a new sense of confidence and accomplishment that makes them more willing to try new challenges.

“The skills and knowledge the kids gain during the Lead2Feed lessons does not end with the challenge. The kids take the leadership skills with them for the next year and for life.”
