Terri King is a Business Education instructor and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) advisor at Odessa High School in Washington State. In her 30 year career, she has become passionate about providing students with the skills and opportunities to become strong leaders. Through her chapter’s involvement in FBLA, she has provided hundreds of students with the opportunity to become confident, service-minded adults as a result of competing at the national FBLA level. With her connections to CTE and FBLA, she will encourage educators everywhere to use the Lead2Feed program as an opportunity to expand all student’s leadership skills and create service learning projects.
“The most powerful lesson for us was Create a Vision, Structure and Culture. This lesson empowers students to visualize their big goal and then develop a plan to get there using their entire team. It is one thing to say you want to do something, it’s another thing to get it done. We learned that you can only really achieve your goals if you know what you want and have a plan to achieve it. By creating an action plan, we were able to clearly see the tasks we needed to accomplish.”
