This week we have a guest blog post from Deborah Ford, St. Andrew’s Academy.
My 7th grade class is really excited about the World Hunger Leadership Challenge. They came up with a wonderful idea and got to work! They met with a local Ford dealership who is willing to partner with them. They are holding a can drive (also buying some) to build a life-size Ford Mustang, totally made from cans. They will construct the car and paint it and it will be on display on Route 1 in Fort Pierce (high traffic area). There will be a large banner with the car that will read: Racing to End Hunger (sponsored by Saint Andrews and Sunrise Ford). We will have donations bins near the car, at school, and in the dealership. We are hoping to spread awareness and ignite action from the community. If we win, we will donate the proceeds to Sarah’s Kitchen, a local soup kitchen.
Thanks again for sharing your team’s story with us Deborah!
