This week we have a team update from the Pavilion Girls Service League.
Pavilion Girls Service League, an organization that teaches high school girls to be leaders through volunteerism, is preparing for their fund-raising World Hunger Leadership Challenge. The members rallied around several ideas and decided to put their energies into two events in the month of March. First, they are hosting a dress down day for faculty and staff within the school. Who doesn’t like to wear sneakers and jeans for a cause? Second the GSL members decided to host all-day Scrap-booking Crop asking participants for a donation of money. Raffles will take place for scrap-booking materials in order to collect canned goods that day also. Each canned good a participant brings will result in a chance to win prizes donated by local merchants. The girls are hoping to raise awareness by writing articles in our local community newspapers. If GSL wins, they will donate the proceeds to Pavilion’s Emergency Food Bank.
