Educators across Georgia are teaching Lead4Change in many different environments and school settings. More than 400 educators are a part of the Lead4Change member community. The lessons are taught in private schools, public schools, and charter schools to students across all grades, 6-12.
Meet Chef Leigh Jackson, a FACS teacher and FCCLA adviser at Stockbridge High School.
Chef Jackson has taught Lead4Change in her classes for 4 years. She is also a master at Taking People With Her (as taught in the lessons) by sharing the program with her peers. The National Honor Society, special needs teachers and other classes at Stockbridge High incorporate the lessons into their students’ experience. Building compassionate leaders is a clear and evident focus at this school.
Around the state, winning Lead4Change teams at Babb Middle School also produce students who are ready to Now Go Lead. Both Babb Middle and Stockbridge High are Lead4Change Certified Schools.
Atlanta Public Schools has partnered with Lead4Change this year and the program is encouraged for all APS middle and high schools. This kind of support allows principals and teachers to work together and feel supported as they introduce the lessons and service learning process to their students.
If your school district is interested in discussing a partnership, contact Colleen here. We know that when resources are provided through district communication channels, it is easier for schools to engage and try new ideas.
We are also thankful for our Charter School members in Georgia. Fresh, relevant, proven solutions for experiential learning is a cornerstone of the charter school experience. Lead4Change Student Leadership Program is a great fit.
