Biography

Adriann has been teaching business education for 20 years at Centennial High School.  Her primary focus in the classroom has been teaching business management and finance.  In 2018, she began teaching American Sign Language as well as CTE.  She is an advocate for project-based learning and believes that all students have the potential find their leadership abilities when working in teams and working outside of the “traditional” classroom environment.  Finding unique and interesting ways to develop leadership in all students in all classes has been her primary focus for nearly two decades.

In 2013, Adriann and her students started the non-profit, Food for Families, a mobile food pantry operated out of a retired school bus.  Food for Families is a registered 501c3 and is a partner agency with the Oregon Food Bank.  The students are responsible for the operation and management of the pantry.  Every other week the pantry is open to the public and is unique in that the pantry offers families the opportunity to shop for groceries, specific to their dietary and cultural needs.  Working with the Food for Families not only gives students hands on business and leadership experience, it also gives them the opportunity to give back to their direct community as well. The Lead4Change program guides her students’ learning and builds leadership in all her students.

Adriann is also the FBLA adviser at Centennial and the chapter has been recognized as one of the most successful chapters in the state of Oregon and the nation.  The chapter has several awards at the state and national levels.
